Welcome to Our 2021 Annual Reflection!

Giving Compass has always set out to be an all-in-one platform to help donors learn about issues, get involved, and give to organizations, but as our world gets increasingly complicated -- threats to democracy, the climate crisis, and growing disparities exacerbated by the pandemic -- we recognize that Giving Compass plays a crucial role in connecting donors to community-led solutions.

2021 was a busy year. We developed additional learning resources to address pressing needs, created a repository of social justice nonprofits, hosted valuable conversations, and launched the newest version of Giving Planner to help donors plan, track, and manage their giving.

We invite you to browse this reflection to see our latest products and tools, special coverage, conversations, and new content collections. We're proud of our role as a trusted connector and strive to make it easier for donors to take action. Here’s a look at some of our progress.

  1. Increased visibility of credible philanthropic resources with over 2,000,000 views of articles, best practices, and partner collections.
  2. Established a library of Impact-Driven Philanthropy (IDP) resources, generating more than 135,000 views.
  3. Educated over 600 individual donors, advisors, and philanthropic sector staff on equity, effectiveness, and systems change via webinars, panels, and presentations.
  4. Responded to major events and crises and connected over 30,000 users to actionable special coverage resources.
  5. Connected 9,000 users to giving opportunities (issue funds, nonprofits, and GlobalGiving projects).
  6. Drove 700 users to participate in volunteer opportunities across various issue areas and regions.
  7. Created a repository of nearly 1,000 nonprofits that connects donors to social justice organizations that align with IDP values.
  8. Provided over 3,200 users with access to philanthropic resources (advisors, learning networks, and research) and learning events.
  9. Partnered with sector leaders to surface the Giving Circle Directory, resulting in nearly 2,700 views since its launch in September.
  10. Developed issue-specific topic guides and motivated more than 6,500 users to take action.
